Art book for the museum distinguished as home to one of the largest and most inclusive collections of American art in the world
Our America: The Latino Presence in American Art is a 368-page plus cover art book which explores how Latino artists shaped the artistic movements of their day and recalibrated key themes in American art and culture. This beautifully illustrated volume focuses on works created from the 1950s to the present, a turning point in our national culture that witnessed the “birth” and transformation of Latino art.
The concept takes its inspiration from the following catalogue quote, “… Latino art emerges as a disruptive force within American art that recalibrates established artistic and historical narratives.” Emphasizing an assertive character and sense of disruption, the design uses strong angular shapes and graphic devices which may invade the space in surprising ways.
